Karnes Electric Cooperative, Inc’s. Bylaws set forth the basic structure by which the cooperative is governed. The bylaws’ include provisions such as: requirements for membership, rights and liabilities of members, meetings of members (including quorum setting and methods of voting), board of directors requirements, officers requirements, and bylaws amendment requirements.

Karnes Electric Cooperative, Inc. operates under a set of rules, policies, and regulations called the Tariff for Electric Service (or simply, the tariff). The tariff is a living document that may be amended periodically by the cooperative’s board of directors, or by order or consent of any regulatory authority having jurisdiction thereof whether or not at the request of the cooperative.
All Karnes Electric Cooperative, Inc. members agree to abide by the terms of the tariff, as amended, when executing the application for membership and purchase of power.
The tariff contains all rate schedules, line extension policies, charges, deposits and fees, billing procedures, right of way, member electric load characteristics/requirements and other items. The tariff is available for your inspection at Karnes Electric Cooperative, Inc. offices during regular business hours.
